The Manager of Health Information Management & Revenue Integrity serves as the primary onsite credentialed HIM professional and is responsible for leadership of the HIM and Revenue Integrity Department including oversight of front line staff; ensuring compliant and operational efficiency for HIM and fiscal excellence within the Revenue Cycle.
The Manager possesses a thorough understanding of revenue cycle, is fluent and in command of HIM regulatory resources including federal, state, organizational and accreditation requirements and charging and coding standards.
The Manager utilizes knowledge and resources to educate, be diplomatic and persuasive to ensure medical record and data integrity as well as the accuracy of coding and charging practices.
The Manager is able to consider incoming information regarding proposed changes up and downstream which impact department workflow, efficiency, staffing, compliance and expenses to propose various solutions to Navigant and/or Client leadership while ensuring compliance and operational efficiency.
The Manager ensures Navigant leadership are informed proactively and discerns what issues can be handled vs escalated for consideration.
Duties and Responsibilities:
This position is primarily responsible for ensuring clinical documentation and revenue integrity components of pre-bill edits, charge holds, late charges and charge reconciliation functions are timely, accurate, complete and compliant with regulatory requirements, ensuring documentation and charges are available for coding and billing promptly.
This position is based in Anniston, Alabama at a major hospital facility and is a full time position with Navigant with a comprehensive benefits package.
- Bachelor’s Degree or Associate Degree in HIM
- RHIT or RHIA or CCS Certificate from AHIMA
- 4 years or more of experience working in an acute care hospital HIM department
- Previous experience in revenue integrity and/or CDM
- Experience with software for CDM maintenance
- Fluent in HIPPA Knowledge and compliance
- Advanced Level of interpersonal skills- written and verbal
- Demonstrated knowledge of CCI/LCD/NCD, fee schedules, payer rules and regulations, legal and agency requirement and continuous quality improvement.
