  • Committee Descriptions:

    Advocacy - Monitors legislation/regulations that impact the HIM professional practice at state and federal level.

    Arrangements – Beginning in November, helps plans food and logistics of the April AAHIM State Meeting.

    Coding Roundtable – Helps to determine location, food, and speakers for the February Coding Symposium and other coding meetings throughout the year.

    Governmental Payers – Monitors governmental payer program changes. Participates in various meetings including RIC/RAC sponsored by the Alabama Hospital Association and the Alabama Audit Summit.

    Nominations – Starting in November, helps to find viable candidates to be placed on the AAHIM ballot for vacant executive board positions.

    Program – Starting in November, helps to determines speakers for the April AAHIM State Meeting.

    Public Relations – Using social media, promotes the HIM profession and upcoming AAHIM events.

    Vendor – Beginning in October, helps to secure vendors for the AAHIM State Meeting and works closely with the vendors throughout the meeting.

    Website Committee – Helps to secure speakers for various webinars throughout the year.
