ChartFast is an innovator in ROI automation and medical data analysis and presentation. Dedicated to bringing the power of cloud based data services to the healthcare industry, our powerful platform allows Health Information Management (HIM) and technology systems to automate many of the Release of Information (ROI) processes currently performed manually.
The position of Release of Information Technician is responsible for processing medical record requests within the ChartFast platform which are received at the facility from patients, doctors, insurance companies, attorneys, government agencies, and other types of requestors. You will also be responsible for compiling and processing medical records of the hospitals and some of the clinic patients in a manner consistent with ChartFast ROI Policies and facility policies and regulations. You will interact directly with the Director of Operations at ChartFast as well as with HIMDs, managers, legal and risk teams, business office associates, requestors of all types, as well as our internal management teams, and your teammates.
Job responsibilities and tasks include, but not limited to:
a. Process incoming faxes, incoming mail, and assist with patient walk-in requests by scanning and or attaching the records within the ChartFast Platform.
b. Escalate issues to Director of Operations that may delay the timely release of medical records.
c. Answer and respond to phone calls received in the medical records department.
d. Work with requestors and assist them with entering requests through the ChartFast Platform.
e. Occasional Travel might be needed to contracted locations to provide coverage as needed.
f. Daily commitment to capture protected health information (PHI) and securely transmit the information to the requestor.
g. Ensure compliance with every ROI request prior to releasing any records.
h. Protect the security of medical records to ensure that confidentiality is maintained.
i. Maintain all remote access connections to provider clients’ EHRs
1. High School Diploma/GED (Bachelor’s degree preferred)
2. Previous Release of Information experience preferred
3. Demonstrated proficiency in using computer software and applications
4. Strong communication skills and Customer service skills
5. Proven track record of dependability
6. Knowledge of HIPAA guidelines is a plus
